Its a bit mad at the moment. Christmas Fayres and orders to get together for Christmas presents. Sorry I have not blogged for so long but this time its not my fault, the webhost company we use changed the whole secruity system and have only just informed me of my new password - but finally we are back on track.

I have just finished a project with a lovely story behind it. A gentleman phoned us one day to ask if we could do him a funny christmas jumper (like a Bridget Jones one). Well after finalising a pattern we said we could do it. He informed us that he was serving in Iraq and would be home in time for Christmas as a surprise for his family. He has been in email corrospondence with us for a few weeks now, and I am glad to say he is now home safe and sound, it took 3 days to get home apparently, and his jumper is finally finished. He also asked us if we would do his girlfriend one which we have also finished. I am hoping to get a picture of his girlfriends on very soon.

It is a plain raglan polo neck DK jumper. I needle felted its nose and antlers, which are removeable, for washing. There is snow around him also but my phone camera is not so good at quality.

Hello

I apologise for neglecting this blog. I was have a case of can't be arsed syndrome. No excuses I know.

Thankyou Margaret for your comment. I think the general rule for blogging, is keep it related to the article, and then talk about something else. I dont mind, I am quite surprised to have got a comment. I believe your Spirit Tanktop came out lovely!

I have new 100g arans in now from KingCole and have just placed an order with Wendy for some new colours in the 400g (all with good wool contents).

Our online store is doing very well, thankyou to those who visit and buy. We are currently offering free patterns with wool, and also for your information on most of our patterns we can email them to you asap, which would then save on p&p when placing your order - always trying to reduce costs.

My sister is over from Singapore at the mo, she is most upset as she doesn't really need to be knitting up lovely sweaters as she would never get any use out of them - what a shame!

Black Cases!

This is the 2nd time I will be writing this blog, as I had just finished the first one and like a numpty I clicked the wrong button and deleted it. Mikaela who is currently is sitting on the sofa (actually sprawled out) is just cackling at me (the witch that she is).

Anyway I will try again, today I have had a busy today, when I arrived this morning I was greeted by Andy the rep from Elle yarns. He was carrying 3 black cases, I get excited when I see black cases as wool companies use these when they have new yarns to launch. The yarns are nicely presented in the boxes with garments and patterns to match. He revealed the first yarn, which was a tweedy mega chunky with traditional colours, in the second box was a DK version of the same yarn. Although nice the yardage I felt was a bit to short. In his final case he introduced a current range but in a new weight. Those of you familiar with the Gold range will know the yarn I am writing about, they are going to be launching this in an Aran, and as Andy pointed out the stitch definition on a cabled jumper would look fantastic.

This afternoon Paul from King Cole paid me a visit, carrying 2 black cases. Again King Cole are launching a new mega chunky called Aero. It is a lightweight yarn, so the idea is you get the look without the strain of wearing such a heavy weight yarn. They had some nice patterns, and they will be promoting this yarn in next months knitting magazines (he told me that so it you dont see it ladies dont shout at me please). The final yarn a current chunky they do but they have re-vamped the colours and they are yummy. There were green, orange, lilac, pink, and some bright funky varigated colours ideal for kid knits. I ordered this due for arrival in September.

Richard from Woolcraft is coming on Monday, I like Richard he's got great yarns at great value with great service!

What a rotten summer we are all experiencing. I still hold out some hope that the sunshine will arrive. However, while it is so horrible we are still all feverishly knitting.

We are fast approaching Autumn, and the new ranges for this Autumn/Winter are traditional yarns with high wool content. They are just beautiful, and Twilleys have just brought out a new book to complement their Freedom range which is delightful, especially the kimino jacket it on the front, which incidentally I will be knitting very shortly for myself (just cant decide on the colours). Expect to see lots of regular chunky this winter also ladies, great for socks, cabled scarves and hats. Think Christmas!

I am currently in the Sleaford shop watching it piddle with rain outside, today is quiet nobody wants to brave the weather (can't blame them) but it is giving me a chance to sew up a crochet squared blanket, its been sat looking at me long enough! I should finish it today - yipee!

(you can find the Twilleys book on our website click for online shop it is on the front page - thanks!)
